"Although I was unavailable during the live course, I downloaded the workbook later and found it incredibly helpful and thorough. Using it, I designed the 'Yuya' hat in collaboration with Woolissime Yarns. I love this hat so much that I keep creating new versions!"

Designing a Hat Changed My Life
When I started out as a knitting pattern designer back in 2016, the road ahead seemed dauntingly uncertain. Where do you even begin?
Thankfully, I started by designing a simple hat pattern, and it turned out to be a pivotal choice. It provided a solid foundation for building my confidence and dipping my toe into pattern design.
I offered that first hat pattern as a free download to those who subscribed to my weekly newsletter and let's just say that the response greatly exceeded my expectations...! By the end of launch day, I had 500 new subscribers to my email list.
But the impact went beyond numbers. That humble hat pattern not only sharpened my design skills but also built connections with a community of fellow knitters who were interested in buying my future patterns.
From those modest beginnings, my passion for knitting pattern design flourished, leading to numerous self-published patterns and collaborations with companies like Woolfolk, Laine Magazine, Making Stories, and The Fibre Co.
That first hat pattern became the spark that ignited my knitting pattern design journey, laying the foundation for the business I run today.
And now, in this course, I'm excited to share the techniques and insights that will help you design your first hat, too!
